Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for a range of high-level financial operations, including maintaining the Town’s accounts, approving accounts payable and payroll, performing all accounts receivable, and collecting and recording tax payments. Specific experience is required.

The Assistant Treasurer and Bookkeeper assist the Treasurer in these efforts.

Good to know:

  • Property tax payments either postmarked or hand-delivered after the date due will be subject to interest and penalty charges.
  • Tax bills are mailed out to each property owner once a year in August.  Revised tax bills are mailed directly to the property owner. It is the property owners responsibility to forward the revised tax bill to their mortgage/escrow company to ensure their tax obligations are paid correctly.
  • If your mailing address changes, please let us know so we can get your bill to you.
  • Sorry, we do not accept electronic payments or credit cards.
  • If paying by cash you must have the EXACT amount as we have no change drawer. Please do not drop cash payments in the drop box. They must be received, counted and acknowledged by a town employee in front of the payer.
  • You may send your payment by mail or leave it in the secure drop box located outside the door to the Town Office.
  • Mailed requests for receipts must include a stamped return envelope. Please keep in mind that your cancelled check serves as receipt of payment.
