Town Meeting General Information

Vermont Town Meeting Day is the first Tuesday in March. Citizens come together to discuss and vote on the business of our small mountain town.  For over 200 years, Town Meeting Day has been an important political tradition for Vermonters to elect local officials and decide on budgets. It is also a time for neighbors to discuss the civic problems and issues which our community faces together. The ideas we share, help to guide our elected officials' work. Every registered voter has a voice during our annual meeting. When you attend, you will not be an audience, you will be a voting member of the assembly. Please join us!

November 4, 2025 Special Town Meeting

There was a special Town and School District Meeting which made some big changes to our annual meetings. ATTENTION, NEW IN 2026: Lincoln voters have changed the date of our annual meetings to 10 a.m. on the Saturday preceding the first Tuesday in March. In 2026, that will be February 28 at Burnham Hall. The annual meeting is for in-person voting on budgets and public questions. ALSO NEW: At our floor meetings, Lincoln voters will be using a new electronic voting system. These electronic "clickers" aim to provide a more efficient, private, and accurate vote count. The clickers are for the in-person voting only.  Here are more details.
