Conservation Commission
Our Mission:
To protect and enhance Lincoln’s natural and cultural resources for their inherent value and their contribution to quality of life for all inhabitants.
The Lincoln Conservation Commission and volunteers:
- Promote public understanding and appreciation of nature
- Advocate for, celebrate, and steward Town lands
- Create educational events, spaces and tools
- Engage in the civic life of the Town, including Town planning and policy development
- Build climate resilience based on new science and Indigenous wisdom
Town-Owned Properties of Lincoln, VT:
170 acres, located at the end of Colby Hill Road. Wooded, with some narrow trails.
98 acres, located near junction of the Lincoln Gap Road and South Lincoln Road. The Town Shed is on the property. Fields and woods, no trails at this time.
104 acres, located in the extreme southwest corner of Lincoln, abutting Ripton. Access via USFS road – extension of Duclos Road. Wooded, some old growth trees, old logging roads but no maintained trails.
134 acres, located across the river from the Lincoln Community School. Access from East River Road near Truchon Bridge. Fields and woods. Well-maintained trail system. Conservation easement held by the Middlebury Area Land Trust.
