Primary Election August 11, 2020

Polling hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Town Office, 62 Quaker Street. Please wear a mask and bring your own black or blue pen when you come to vote. Absentee ballots must be received by your Town Clerk no later than 7:00 p.m. on August 11. Read all of the instructions so your vote can count.

Part-time Position Opening


The Town of Lincoln seeks applicants to fill the position of Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator is responsible for administration and enforcement of the Town’s duly adopted governing By-laws. He/she will examine and process applications for permits and issue permits where the application is consistent with by-laws. She/he will call meetings of the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) when required. He / she will make certain that applicable state statutes are strictly adhered to including posting of meeting/hearing notices and maintaining and distributing notices including meeting minutes.

Organizational skill is essential. Familiarity with the town and community of Lincoln is desirable. Experience in Vermont zoning is a plus. Must be able to attend night meetings and organize site visits in sometimes difficult locations

Part time work averaging 6-10 hours per week. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Vote tabulator testing Oct. 4

We will be testing the vote tabulator memory cards on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Town Office.  This is a routine procedure before all elections, and anyone is invited to observe the process.  This is to prepare for the Nov. 6, 2018 General Election.

Submit petitions for Town Meeting now

Town Meeting ballot petitions are due by Jan. 29th (but appreciated sooner!), and require 11 signatures along with a completed consent form.  Ask Town Clerk, Sally Ober, for details:  (802)453-2980.

Property Tax installment due Oct. 11, 2017

The first installment of the 2017-18 property tax bill is due on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017.  The Treasurer will be open that day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for receiving payments.  There is also a drop box outside the office door for leaving payments after hours.  No cash in the drop box please!

Tabulator Test Location Changed

On Friday, October 28, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., the town clerks will be conducting the test run for our vote tabulator machine, in preparation for the November 8th election.  We originally warned this to happen at the Library, but have changed the location to be at Burnham Hall.

Request absentee ballots now

Ballots are available for the November 8, 2016 General Election.  Please submit your absentee ballot requests to the Town Clerk now, or you may come to the office to vote early, during regular office hours.

Deadline to submit a petition to run for Office is Jan. 25

The deadline to submit a nominating petition to run for a town office position is Monday, January 25, at 5:00 p.m.  Petitions must contain signatures of at least 10 Lincoln registered voters.  A consent of candidate form is also required, in order to place your name on the ballot for the March 1, 2016 election.  Blank forms can be found on this website under voting/election information, or outside the town office door.  Questions? Deadline to run for office in Local March Election: Jan. 25th

To run for office in our local Town Meeting Election, candidates must submit a petition with signatures of 10 registered voters from Lincoln.  Petitions are due to the Town Clerk by January 25th at 5:00 p.m.  Also required is a consent form.  Blank forms are available at the Town Office or on this website under “Voting/Elections”.

Deadline to submit a petition for Town Meeting Warning is Jan. 13

If you wish to add an item to the Annual Town Meeting Warning, petitions with signatures of 5% of registered voters must be submitted to the Town Clerk, no later than January 13. Blank petitions are available at the Town Office, or on this website under “Voting.”  At this time, 49 signatures are required.
