Absentee ballot requests for November Election

Town Clerk Hours different for week of Aug. 22

The Town Clerk office hours for the week of Aug. 22 are as follows:

Wed. Aug. 24: open from 8 am to 2 pm

Thurs. , Aug. 25:  open from 8 am to 2 pm

Closed all other days, and no evening hours on Wednesday.  Other town officials may be in during their regular hours.

 

Town Office Closures – May 25, 2016 and May 30, 2016 (Memorial Day)

The Town Office will be closed during typically scheduled hours on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

The Town Office will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2016 in observance of Memorial Day.

Town Office Closed April 25-29–We’re moving!

The Lincoln Town Office will be closed for the week of April 25-29, while we move to temporary quarters at the Lincoln Library, (222 West River Road).  We are relocating during the construction of our new building, which should be completed by October.  Our goal is to be open for business on Monday, May 2 at the Library location, where our phone, fax, and mailing address will all remain the same.  Clerk hours will be the same, but records may take extra time to retrieve, so plan ahead.  Other town officials may change their office hours as we adjust to a smaller space.  Meeting locations will change, so pay attention to agendas. Town Meeting Election Results March 1, 2016

On the local ballot, there was one contested race and one question.  For Second Constable, incumbent Mark Truax (295 votes) prevailed over challenger Matthew Collins (203 votes).  All other local races were uncontested, and there were no serious write-in campaigns, so all the other candidates on the ballot were elected.  The question about whether to eliminate the office of auditor passed with 221 YES and 151 NO. Town Meeting News

At town meeting on Feb. 29th, 2016, all articles were passed as warned except for Article 3 of the School Meeting.  Article 3 was amended to read:  “Shall the voters of the Lincoln Town School District approve the school board to expend $2,216,122,  which is the amount the school board has determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year?”  Article 3 as amended, passed by voice vote.  This was a $17,400 increase from the warned amount.

Annual Town and School Meeting is Feb. 29

The annual town and school district meeting is Feb. 29, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Burnham Hall.  Australian ballot voting occurs the next day on March 1, 2016, with polls open at Burnham Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

BCA votes to use tabulator in March 1, 2016 election

On Wednesday, January 27,  the Lincoln Board of Civil Authority voted to approve the use our new vote tabulator machine for counting federal and local ballots in the March 1, 2016 election.  This will establish early compliance with 17 V.S.A. Chapt. 51, Subchapt. 3, Sect. 2491(b).  A public tabulator test run will take place on Wed., Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m at the Lincoln Town Office.  Questions:  Call Town Clerk, Sally Ober at 453-2980.
