The 2015 Property Tax Bills were mailed out Monday/Tuesday of last week. Due to a data entry error on my part the Tax Rate for the Highway Dept was incorrect. The correct Tax Rate is .4888 not .6438. This is the correct Tax Bill. The corrected tax bills will be mailed this Monday, August 17, 2015. The correct Tax Bill will have a print date of 8/12/2015. (located in the upper left hand corner). To avoid confusion we suggest that you discard the incorrect bill. I apologize for the error and any confusion that it created.

B-19 (“Truchon Bridge”) VTrans Fact Sheet – East River Road Closing Summer 2015 – 50 Days

B-19 VTrans Fact Sheet

“Truchon Bridge” on East River Road will be replaced this summer. East River Road will be totally closed to through traffic for a single period of up to 50 days between  mid-June and late August. The estimated start of full closure is July 2. By closing the road entirely, the construction schedule is shortened substantially and the Town’s share of the nearly $2.4 million project, funded by property taxes, is reduced by 50%. This public Information meeting will be an opportunity  to learn and to ask questions about the schedule and plans.

Mt. Abraham School Budget Defeated

The Mt. Abraham Union High/Middle School budget vote on April 14th, failed by a count of 755 NO and 485 YES.  The  ballots are co-mingled from all the five towns, so we do not have individual counts for each town.  Thank you to everyone who turned out to vote.   Lincoln’s participation was the highest percentage (22%) of the 5-towns with 226 out of 1,026 voters weighing in.  Pay close attention for a warning to re-vote again soon.  If you know you will be away in the next few weeks and want to submit an absentee ballot request to your town clerk, I can hold it for immediate processing on the day I receive new ballots.  Please e-mail or call, to make a request.
