Town Meeting will be different in 2021

There will be no in-person Town Meeting in 2021.  All voting will be by Australian ballot. Early voting is strongly encouraged.  Please request absentee ballots as soon as possible. Ballots will NOT be automatically mailed to every voter like was done for the General Election.  Pay attention and read your town report when you get it in the mail.

New public WiFi Hotspot at Lincoln Town Office

A new public WiFi hotspot is installed at the Lincoln Town Office in Dec. 2020. This was done by an initiative of the VT Public Service Department, using Covid relief funding. The range of good coverage should be 400-500 feet. Please help spread the word about this new service. If you are using the WiFi from your parked vehicle, please be safe about idling to heat your vehicle. Be sure to crack your windows to keep fresh air flowing through. Of course, we would appreciate you being mindful to not idle your vehicle at all if the temperatures allow. When you search for available networks in the village, this one is called “Franklin Hotspot.” It does not require a password to connect.
We hope this service can be helpful to visitors and those who need it.

Lincoln Gap Road Closes Oct. 15

The top of the Lincoln Gap Road (past the last house number 2668) will be closing on October 15 for the winter.  Barriers will be installed on both the Warren and Lincoln sides of the gap. Be sure your vehicles are not parked up there on Oct. 15 or they will be blocked in.  Thank you.

Welcome to Caroline Siegfried, our new Assistant Clerk! We are excited to have her on board. Please be patient with us as training and learning a new job takes time.

Lincoln’s Ballots have been mailed

I am notified by the VT Sec. of State’s Office that our ballots for the Nov. 3 General Election have just been mailed out on Oct. 1. If you do not receive your ballot by October 7, please contact me via email, and I can help you.
*IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before you vote (and follow them!). We want your vote to count. If you have questions, please ask BEFORE you return your ballot. You can only vote once. Sally Ober, Town Clerk, clerk@lincolnvermont.org

Upcoming Roadwork NOTICE

The following roadway drainage and safety improvements are slated for the immediate and near future. To minimize inconvenience and maintain safety please pay close attention to notices, signs and flaggers at the work sites.

  1. Colby Hill Road will be closed to thru traffic on Monday, August 17 from 7 AM – 4 PM to facilitate and expedite continued improvements of culverts, and drainage ditches. Access to local residences will be maintained. The road will be closed to thru traffic at the intersection of Colby Hill Road and Isham Hollow Road. Please plan your routes and leave extra time if necessary. Similar closures may happen on following days depending on progress made.
  2. Ripton Road at the Intersection with West Hill Road – deteriorated culvert header will be repaired to facilitate restoration of roadway width and re-installation of guardrail. This project will require a short period of one-way traffic. Further notice with specific timing will be issued when details are known.
  3. South Lincoln Road – two large culverts and headers will be replaced near the south end of the paved section of this road. This project is required to comply with clean water requirements of the state. It will be followed at a later date by final paving on the entire paved section of road. Further notice will be issued.
  4. South Lincoln Road – re-alignment of the road near the site of the former Urz House, just south of the Town Garage is on temporary hold in anticipation of issuance of state and federal permits. Town Office COVID-19 Closure

Due to the state of emergency declared by Governor Scott, the Lincoln Town Office is closed for walk-in business.  Town Officials will continue to do our work and we will stagger our hours to avoid contact with each other.  We encourage you to do business with us remotely.  Several of us who work here are among the very vulnerable population, so please stay away if there is any chance you could be infecting us!  Payments and applications may be left in the drop box, and you are welcome to email or call for things we can assist you with that way.  Email is best. Thank you for your understanding and we will re-open as soon as we are advised that it is safe to do so.
