GOVE HILL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT UNDERWAY – JUNE 28
The Town road crew has started work on a project that will improve safety, drainage and aesthetics on the paved section of Gove Hill Road from the Lincoln Firehouse to the end of pavement. This project includes grinding existing asphalt pavement, adding and mixing new raod base material, resizing and replacement of culverts, realignment of drainage ditches with stone lining to better manage drainage while mitigating environmental impact to the New Haven River and Lake Champlain. Part of this section of road has been dramatically narrowed by large trees that now overhang and encroach on the traveled part of the road, reducing visibility and overall safety. Some trees will be removed or trimmed.
This project will require temporary road closing for three days, Wednesday – Friday, July 6-8. On those days the road will be closed from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM to all traffic except residents who live along that affected stretch. We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience. We will do our best to expedite the work to minimize the closure time.
